The State Research Agency (AEI) maintains a database of expert collaborators, known as the “AEI Expert Collaborators Database (BECA)”, which is registered with the Spanish Data Protection Agency. BECA currently includes more than 45,000 expert collaborators of recognized prestige, both national and international. Among others, it includes all experts who have participated in any AEI evaluation process, principal investigators of projects funded under the 2024–2027 State Plan for Scientific, Technical and Innovation Research (PEICTI), or under previous State Plans, as well as researchers who have been awarded funding in human resources calls such as “Ramón y Cajal”, “Consolidation Grants”, or “Atrae”.
How can I join BECA?
Any researcher interested may apply to join this database of expert collaborators by completing and submitting the following form. The application must include the following documents:
- Signed expression of interest, according to the attached template (Expresion de interes BECA.docx)
- Curriculum Vitae (CV)
Remuneration
Both evaluation activities and participation in technical panels are remunerated in accordance with the amounts established by the Ministry of Finance and Public Administrations (Order of 20 December 2025).
