Clean Energy Transition Partnership (CETP) is a partnership co-funded by the European Union and its member and associated states under Horizon Europe. Its objective is to accelerate the global energy transition. To this end, CETP manages competitive transnational calls and selects the best research and innovation projects in clean technologies. Participants in the selected projects are funded by national and regional funding bodies, with part of their costs covered by Horizon Europe. Other entities also take part in CETP, and it is open to the participation of entities from third countries. This partnership is part of the joint effort to implement the European Strategic Energy Technology Plan (SET Plan).
CETP structures its operation through 7 Transition Initiatives (Transition Initiatives, TRIs), in which CETP members work on the different topics as set out in the Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA). The work of the TRIs includes:
- Defining the topics (modules) of the CETP joint calls
- Organising the management of the different stakeholders, targeting the relevant audience and communication in the field
- Carrying out accompanying activities on knowledge management and impact maximisation.
List of TRIs:
- TRI 1: Integrated net-zero energy system
- TRI 2: Enhanced zero-emission energy technologies
- TRI 3: Enabling climate neutrality with storage technologies, renewable fuels and CCU/CCS
- TRI 4: Efficient zero-emission heating and cooling solutions
- TRI 5: Integrated regional energy systems
- TRI 6: Integrated industrial energy systems
- TRI 7: Integration in the built environment
The AEI takes part in all TRIs.
2026 Call
The AEI takes part in the 2026 call, supporting Spanish participation in all TRIs.
The international consortium coordinator must submit the initial proposal to CETP before 8 October. In addition, the Spanish PI, through the legal representative (RL), must submit the initial proposal via the AEI's application system before 15 October. The participation conditions for AEI beneficiaries can be found in the following document.
