General description |
Facilitate the incorporation of consolidated research talent, of recognized international prestige, who has recently developed a significant period of their professional activity abroad, in order to promote progress towards a more competitive SECTI at the national and international level. |
Specific goals and activities financed |
Promote the circulation of knowledge and excellent research personnel, incorporating them stably into the SECTI, supporting their careers and stimulating the generation and consolidation of top-level research teams, as well as promoting attractive and sustainable research careers, providing support to Universities, OPIs, and public research centers, with their commitment to achieving this goal. Within the general objective of enhancing the competitiveness of SECTI agents, this call specifically promotes the incorporation of consolidated talent in public universities and public research organizations, defined in Article 47 of Law 14/2011, of June 1, on Science, Technology, and Innovation, with the aim of continuing to ensure academic excellence and the presence of cutting-edge research in these institutions, for which at least 60% (€15,000,000) of the total budget of the call will be allocated to funding actions in these entities. A consolidated researcher, of recognized international prestige, is considered to be someone who meets criteria such as being within the top 10% of researchers in their area of specialization globally, being the principal investigator of an active project of the European Research Council (ERC), holding the highest level of the academic/research career in their country of origin, or having led a significant number of research projects in competitive calls, whether national from any country or international, having made highly relevant and impactful contributions in their area of specialization throughout their career. Fundable concepts of the action: the cost of hiring the PI, the costs of executing a research project, and the costs of establishing and/or improving facilities and equipment. |
