General description

Acquisition, installation and updating of scientific-technical equipment necessary for the execution of quality research, the improvement of results and their scientific, economic and social impact, as well as for the operation of existing research infrastructures.

Specific goals and activities financed

The acquisition, improvement, updating and installation of the scientific-technical equipment necessary for the execution of quality scientific-technical research, the improvement of results and their scientific, economic and social impact. Specifically, priority will be given to shared-use equipment.

Beneficiaries

Those entities among those included in article 4 of the regulatory bases that may fall into any of the following categories may be considered beneficiaries:

a) Public research bodies as defined in Article 47 of Law 14/2011 of 1 June on Science, Technology and Innovation.

b) Public universities and university institutes, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 6/2001, of 21 December, on Universities, registered in the Register of Universities, Centres and Titles, created by Royal Decree 1509/2008, of 12 September, which regulates the Register of Universities, Centres and Titles.

c) Other public R&D centres: Public bodies and centres with their own legal personality dependent on or linked to the General State Administration, and those dependent on or linked to the territorial public administrations and their bodies or in which the public sector holds a majority stake, whatever their legal form.

The beneficiary entities, regardless of their legal nature, must form part of the institutional public sector and be registered in the Inventory of State, Autonomous Community and Local Public Sector Entities, all in accordance with the provisions of Title II of Law 40/2015, of 1 October, on the Legal System for the Public Sector. In addition, the beneficiary entities must comply with the definition of research organisation established in section 1.3.ee) of the Commission Communication on the State Aid Framework for Research and Development and Innovation (2014/C 198/01).
